An old shipping container transformed into a five-star villa in the Australian bush has been shortlisted in the Stayz Holiday Home of the Year Awards. The plush accommodation – the Paris Villa at Clifftop at Hepburn – is cantilevered over a cliff in a pine forest near the spa town of Daylesford, Victoria. Designed for couples, the Parisian-inspired ‘oasis’ features glass floors offering breathtaking views of the native bush land below and also boasts a floating king-sized bed, a Tasmanian black wood bath and the world’s best massage chair.
Prices start at $453 per night for two people. Spread across 50 square metres, the one bedroom, one bathroom villa offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape through floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests are given a Polaroid camera to capture shots of their stay as well as a bottle of Moët & Chandon on arrival. Adjustable mood lighting allows visitors to create their own ambiance and a log fire is lit during the winter season. The villa also houses an infinity day bed, PlayStation 4, plasma TV and speakers.
One Australian reviewer declared no other place can measure up to Clifftop at Hepburn. ‘We have travelled to many places and stayed in many amazing luxury hotels and boutique accommodation, but all pale in comparison to the amazing Paris villa at Clifftop at Hepburn,’ he wrote.‘Nothing is forgotten, everything is considered – the experience was just perfect.’
